ESTA Application Number
All travelers entering the USA under the Visa Waiver Program by air or sea must have an approved Travel Authorization. The Travel Authorization includes a unique Application Number which is linked to your passport details. Each travelers must have his/her own ESTA Application Number, including children and infants. After you apply for your Travel Authorization online, your unique Application Number will only be displayed on your computer screen. You will not receive any confirmation from the US Government after you apply; no email confirmation, no hard copy confirmation. However, some agency like eVisa Travel will provide you with a PDF copy of your Travel Authorization. It is recommended that you print this copy for your records, but it is not required. |
After successfully applying for ESTA, you will see your unique Application Number on your computer screen. It is vital that you keep a record of your ESTA Application Number. You will need your ESTA Application Number for the following:
- Check the status of your ESTA Travel Authorization if you are not approved immediately after submitting the application
- Update your Travel Authorization before each trip to the United States.

Important Tips:
- After successfully applying for ESTA, your unique Application Number will only be displayed on your computer screen. Make sure you record your Application Number in one or several ways (print the page, email the information to yourself, write it down, etc).
- The ESTA Application Number is usually 14-characters long and consists of a combination of letters and numbers.
- You will not receive any confirmation from the U.S. Government after you apply; no email confirmation, no hard copy confirmation. For this reason, it is important that you keep track of your own unique Application Number.
- You should apply for your Travel Authorization at least 72 hours before departure. However, if you are planning to visit the United States within the next 3-6 months, you are recommend to apply as soon as possible.
